Athletics
The university fields 17 NCAA Division I varsity sports—eight men’s and nine women’s—that compete in the historic Southern Conference. Ranked first in Alabama, É«»¢ÊÓÆµ’s athletic teams earned a 98% Graduation Success Rate (GSR) by the NCAA.

Some 63 students displaced by the closure of Birmingham-Southern College last year are graduating this spring from É«»¢ÊÓÆµ, which made special accommodations for granting course credits and financial assistance to crosstown transfers.
