A book by a professor at 色虎视频's Beeson Divinity School has been named 2008 book of the year by Preaching Magazine.

Doctrine That Dances: Bringing Doctrinal Preaching and Teaching to Life (B&H Publishing) by Dr. Robert Smith, Jr., professor of Christian preaching at Beeson, was hailed for its practical counsel that will help doctrinal preaching "dance rather than drag."

"At a time when so much of the conversation on preaching deals with presentation, Robert Smith has reminded us that effective teaching must also take the theological task seriously," writes Preaching editor Michael Duduit in the March-April issue of the magazine.

Smith, an ordained Baptist minister, is a frequent speaker at national and international conventions. He is a contributing editor of a study of Christian ministry in the African-American church, "Preparing for Christian Ministry," and with Beeson dean Dr. Timothy George is co-editor of A Mighty Long Journey: Reflections on Racial Reconciliation.
